Managing Medical Equipment
Operating and maintaining medical equipment that may be required for the individual’s care, such as ventilators, feeding tubes, or catheters.
Symptom Management
Assessing and managing symptoms related to the individual’s medical condition or treatment.
IV Therapy
Providing intravenous fluids, medications, or other treatments as prescribed by the physician.
Pain Management
Assisting in pain assessment and implementing pain management strategies, which may include medication administration or non-pharmacological methods.
Education & Training
Educating the patient and their family members on managing the medical condition, administering medications, and other aspects of care.
Wound Dressing Changes
Regularly changing dressings for surgical wounds or wounds that require specialized care.
Catheter Care
If the patient has a urinary catheter, the nurse may assist with its care and maintenance.
Tube Feeding
Administering and managing nutrition through feeding tubes if required.
Medical Assessments
Conducting regular assessments to monitor the patient’s health status and progress.
Coordination With Healthcare Team
Collaborating with the patient’s primary care physician and other healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
